I have been a Seiko watch user for more than 30 years and have never been disappointed; never had to return one, nor have it fixed; just changed the battery after years of use. Seiko has more than always held true to its name. Over the years I have owed more than several Seiko watches, just to have to change on a daily basis, depending upon the affair I am attending, whether formal, business, pleasure and doing heavy work.Over the last fifteen to twenty years, the Seiko has taken on a more exquisite look, as well as offering more features at a reasonable price. The last couple watches have the features of an expensive watch, yet 100 meter waterproof, as well as offering a lot more options. Another fact I like about the 100 meter waterproof Seiko watch is, you never having to take it off while swimming (a couple of times while swimming concerned people have kindly reminded me that I still have my watch on, I proudly tell them it is a Seiko waterproof watch). Most of my Seiko watches have worked about 8 to 10 years before I had to change the battery. The older every day watches do have scratches on the crystal; since I enjoy doing carpentry and wood work as a hobby, but the new Seiko watches have scratch resistant crystal covers over the face of the watch. I also like the extra secure lock feature on the ban; it secures the watch from accidently losing it or having it stolen.I have turned many of my friends and acquaintances on to this expensive looking watch that is not as pricey as some of the higher name brand watches (I have had a couple higher name brand watches and they never held up in longevity as my Seiko watches). My Seiko watches, both the Gold Plated Bans (which have not tarnished) with black faces and Stainless Steel Bans with blue faces, have had numerous compliments when worn for both business and pleasure.I still have my very first Seiko watch and it continues to work to this day. My experience is the cheaper watches tends to fail quickly; the expensive watches have proven to me that you are paying for the name; but the Seiko watch you will pay in the mid-range or more depending upon what style and features you are looking for then you will pay more, but the price of a Seiko pays for itself. This seiko watch was really good at the price ~100$. But after 3 years of normal use for office job it stopped working, I tried to repair it at 3 different jewelry but I reached the point it was not worthy anymore.Maybe it was only my experience or maybe that's the discount purpose. The face is a lot darker blue than I expected. It is a dark navy color. However the watch is very nice. I gave this to one of my sons as a graduation gift and he loved it. We were confused that the second had only spins when the stop watch is in use, but this is the way a chronograph watch works. The second had that runs for the regular time is one of the sub dials.Do not think just ordered. You will regret later if you don't order believe me. I have a collection of around 50 watches and this is one of the top 10 that I have.Great looking watch, gets lots of compliments.
