I wanted a winder that can accommodate two automatic watches. There's not a lot out there that can meet my style preference and price point. The piano black exterior looks elegant and simple. The faux carbon fiber interior adds character to its overall appearance & compliments my two watches. There are switches on the back for the main power and to shut-off the rotation when you open the lid. I shut-off the latter because I have no use for it. There's an interior lighting which I decided to turn off as well because it's very faint and only illuminates the bottom of the rotating base. When it's pitch dark, you can barely notice the light unless you come very close. There's a switch knob for various rotation patterns which I set for 2-minute CW rotation with 6-minute pause. Since my two watches require 800 TPD CW, I used a smart plug to schedule the rotations every night for 7 hrs & 33 mins to achieve the TPD. The motor is very quiet from a distance. However, there's a faint hum when it's very quiet at night and you pay attention to the noise.This product works. So happy I don’t have to keep time. I have 2 older watches and this is prefect.I just received it and wanted to make sure it worked. It was going to be present. Glad I tested it, as the counter clockwise does not work on any of the appropriate selections. I will be returning. Super bummed because it looks really nice and the options that it had were appealing- to bad it doesn't work properly.This is a great looking, silent watch winder. It works great and keeps my watches running without problem. The instructions included are of little value, and I do mean little, but it doesn’t take long to figure out everything. It has a nice build in light and is simple enough to use. My only complaint is that the pillows that hold the watches in place are too small to secure them. The watches shift in the box when it is working. This would not be a problem for a small watch band, like a woman’s watch. I have replaced the pillows with a sponge that I trimmed to fit the slots. This is not a perfect solution, but it works.I fully accept some compromises are unavoidable when attempting to procure a decent lower end watch winder and it seems all of these lookalike, fundamentally equally featured piano black top opening winders have some nuanced deficiencies. This one goes the extra mile by providing an instruction manual written totally in Chinese. Whether it's traditional or Mandarin is a mystery to me because if I knew that I'd probably be able to read it and wouldn't be as perturbed by it. Fortunately, it isn't all that complicated of a device so determining which settings might best fit my preferences wasn't much of a problem. Especially, since NONE of these lower price watch winder sellers seem to comprehend cycle time isn't the only specification for a specific setting many users need to determine the optimal choice for their watches. However, grading on the curve this one impresses me as a bit better than many at this price tier.This model is nearly identical in external appearance to two other winders I have with an appealing high gloss piano black finish and clear acrylic viewing window lid. This model also has a rear positioned power switch. as well as blue hued ground effects illumination that can be disabled via an interior switch. It has dual power options and is delivered with an entirely too short (36 in.) USB-A to DC connector cable and generic AC adaptor. It will also work off two "AA" batteries (not provided).The primary deficiency however, lies with the rotation settings. The interior positioned mode switch is an improvement over some others I own as there is sufficient space between it and the carousel for easy manipulation. The four modes are clearly displayed by the labeling on the small plate. The four modes each have defined rotation time frames/patterns, resulting in variable turns per day that may or may not correspond to the watch manufacturer's recommended standards. If you want to know what those modes are you'd be best served by taking a screenshot of the information above and saving it to a file for future reference unless of course you're literate in Chinese. It is represented to have "five" modes of operation since for whatever reason all these sellers consider "off" to be a valid mode. I'm not interested in a math problem to determine how many turns per day will result with any of the four modes and the manufacturer of this winder didn't provide any genuinely useful information about that aspect. I am interested in the deterioration of this thing's motor since running 24 hours per day in three of the modes is unnecessary and will only reduce it's lifespan for no good reason. The user does not have the capability to adjust rotation times for any of the modes.This winder will accommodate two mechanical automatics as long as the rotational specifications for each watch are identical and as noted since precise information regarding TPD is not provided, I suppose it doesn't matter anyway. According promotional information here on the product page, it is driven by a Mabuchi motor, a widely respected driving source found in a healthy proportion of lower to mid-priced watch winders. As is common with that motor, this device is commendably quiet and smooth in operation. I have the same motor in a couple of other winders and it has proven highly dependable, accepting I don't have any of them operating 24/7. In this instance, platform rotation does not stop when the lid is opened despite what be purported in the blurbs in the product page description. It should be noted in three of the four available modes, this thing runs all day long. Not that much of an issue for me personally as "if" I intended to keep it I'd set it to mode four with clockwise/counterclock motion sessions with the 9 hour daily pause.Personally, I find the LED illumination of most winders more useless than underglow lighting on parked car. Yes, there is a interior switch to turn it off but why it was decided to include it to start with is the question. I have other winders with in cabinet lighting but in those instances the lighting illuminates a control panel that actually allows the owner to adjust settings. Here, it's nothing more than decoration under a carousel.I have to note this winder has the best cushion type pillows of any of this style of winders I've used. Typically, the pillows are so poorly constructed heftier watches or watches with thicker bands i.e., rubber/silicone with thicker buckles, tend to become dislodged during operation. The cushions here are wide enough to securely hold just about any size watch (Okay, if you're into humongous body mechanical watches I got nothing to tell you).This is so quiet you could place it on a nightstand beside you and have no trouble sleeping, it is very quiet. Works great right now and hopefully for a long time because that is always the issue with watch winders, how long they last. Love the multiple settings and back lighting. Looks really good. Minor negative right now is the watch holders use friction to secure the watches in place, and not much friction at that. I wish there were a little more secure option. Will update.Terrific watch winder. Love the LED light. The finish is remarkable. The operation is smooth. The 2 position is great.Good value for what you get. Very happy with it. It show cases nicely. Got it as a birthday gift for my son. He loved it.
